Paige Pelonis (Matos) is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist at La Vie Counseling Center, under the supervision of Kelsey Sima #MFT118483.
Before becoming a therapist, Paige spent more than a decade walking alongside people through some of life’s most difficult chapters. After earning her bachelor’s degree from California State University, Long Beach, she founded a nonprofit dedicated to using art, storytelling, and community connection to support individuals navigating trauma, mental health challenges, housing instability, grief, and major life transitions. That work continues to shape the way she shows up in the therapy room today.
Paige earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University in 2025. She brings experience as a nonprofit executive, case manager, care coordinator, and peer support specialist, giving her a deep appreciation for the emotional weight many people carry long before they ever walk into therapy.
Paige is especially passionate about working with people who spend much of their lives caring for others. Whether you are a teacher, healthcare professional, nonprofit leader, caregiver, social worker, first responder, or simply someone others naturally depend on, it can be easy to become so focused on everyone else’s needs that you lose touch with your own. Therapy offers a place where you don’t have to be the one holding everything together.
Her approach is collaborative, relational, and grounded in narrative, relational, and psychodynamic therapies, helping clients explore the stories they have come to believe about themselves while making room for new possibilities. She also incorporates creativity and expressive arts when it feels meaningful, recognizing that healing often happens in ways that words alone cannot fully capture.
Above all, Paige believes therapy is not about becoming someone different. It is about having a space where your own story matters, where you can set down what you’ve been carrying, and where healing happens through curiosity, connection, and compassionate attention to the life you are already living.
Paige especially enjoys working with helping professionals, caregivers, nonprofit leaders, healthcare workers, educators, therapists, and others who spend much of their lives supporting everyone else.
