Dr. Kate Wiebe is a Psychological Associate providing services under the supervision of Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Andrea Forbes PSY23101. Dr. Wiebe completed a Masters of Divinity at Princeton Theological Seminary, a Doctorate in Pastoral Theology, Personality, and Culture at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Santa Barbara.
As a pastoral psychotherapist, Kate is passionate about helping organizational and ministry leaders, individuals, youth, couples, and families to thrive. She is certified in treating Complex Trauma through Internal Family Systems, administering Psychological First Aid, and conducting Critical Incident Debriefings. She has extensive experience in responding to natural, technological, and human-caused disasters, and working with long-term recovery groups.
During sessions with clients she utilizes a range of therapeutic methods including psychodynamic and psychoanalytic theories, intersubjectivity and relationality, somatization and vagal tone, solution-focused practices, and emotionally-focused therapy practices to work with adult individuals, couples, and youth to explore their personal background and development, identify behavioral and relational patterns, and find effective practices for healing and growth.
Areas of Clinical Interest: Work or ministry-related trauma/ depression /anxiety/ bereavement, family/parenting loss or challenges, sensory-processing sensitivity, grief/ bereavement, behavioral health challenges related to physical disabilities, and life-crises.
