Since 1997, Leonore has been helping adults and adolescents in
individual treatment at La Vie, as well as offering intensive
couples therapy in partnership with
Dr. Curtis Miller.
She is currently a Clinical Supervisor to La Vie's Marriage and
Family Therapist Interns.
Leonore summarizes her integrative approach to treatment as
follows: "Some therapeutic orientations seek to remove symptoms
and eradicate so-called problems. But I have developed a deep
respect for symptoms as messengers. Whether working with
depression or anxiety, marital distress, chronic pain and
illness, or spiritual suffering, I believe that our symptoms
testify to something in us that needs our listening and our
care. Psychotherapy provides a focused opportunity for both the
client and the therapist to honor the whole person in his
or her desire for a life of depth, connection, joy and meaning.
In other words---life abundant!"
Leonore also has a rich background in both private and public
sectors as a speaker, trainer and consultant for personal and
professional transformation. With thirteen years leading
organizational change in Fortune 250 companies, she continues to
design and deliver workshops to help businesses, churches and
schools develop creative resources for leadership. She offers a
number of talks and workshops, including the popular "Living
Single in A Couple's World."
Leonore received her Bachelor of Arts in English from UCLA,
where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and awarded the
Teague-Elliott Prize in Humanities. She completed her Master
of Arts in Psychology at Chapman University. Currently, she is
in her second year of specialized studies at the Institute of
Contemporary Psychoanalysis.
