Alessa Barsuglia is a Marriage and Family Therapy Trainee under the supervision of Joanne Weidman and Dr. Curtis Miller. She works with individuals, couples, families, children and adolescents. Alessa has additional experience in working with families and children with special needs and is experienced in Floor Time Play Therapy techniques.

Her areas of interest include pre-marital and martial counseling, children with special needs, adolescents, grief counseling, addictions/ substance abuse, anxiety, depression, adoption, and eating disorders. Alessa incorporates primarily psychodynamic and post- modern approaches in her therapeutic practice.

I work to collaborate with my clients and create a safe environment in which they feel free to explore their lives while building the skills and understanding to endure life’s many challenges. I hope that through my relationship and work with my clients they are able to establish their own inner strength to make more adaptive choices that can improve the quality of their relationships and life experiences.”

Alessa Barsuglia obtained her B.S. in psychology at California Lutheran University. She is currently working to complete her Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling at Phillips Graduate Institute.
