Dr. Jones received his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Biola University, a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University, and completed his PhD in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. Dr Jones is a winner of the American Psychological Associations Division 39 Multicultural Scholar Award, and published an article in the Journal of Humanistic Psychology on the topic of self actualization. Dr. Jones is an Adjunct Professor and has taught several classes for the clinical psychology Master’s program at Pepperdine University. Dr. Jones currently teaches psychology undergraduates at Azusa Pacific University and currently teaches clinical psychology doctoral students at Antioch University, Santa Barbara.
From 2010 to 2011 Dr. Jones proudly served as President of the Psi Chi International Honor Society for the Pepperdine’s Graduate School of Education and Psychology. Dr. Jones guest lectured for Pepperdine on cross cultural paradigms for analytic psychotherapy, and he co-presented original-research at the Sixth Annual Conference for the Society of Humanistic Psychology. He is a member of both the American Psychological Association (APA) and of the APA Division of Psychoanalysis. Dr. Jones is a Certified Prepare/Enrich Facilitator.
Prior to joining La Vie, Dr. Jones completed four years of training in psychoanalytically oriented therapy at Rose City Counseling Center as well as a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Occidental College. He is supervised at La Vie by Andrea Forbes, Psy.D., #PSY23101
